Debutante is the beginning of something really exciting and great. |
The Debutante Orchestra will begin this season with a very basic review of sightreading beginning with open strings, then adding all fingers soon thereafter. We will study basic rhythms: whole, half, quarter notes and rests and stay within the key signatures of A, D, and G Major. We will possibly explore the key signatures of C and F Major the second semester. All new and returning students will come to the auditions at the beginning of the year. The Debutante Orchestra will rehearse in the Band Room of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame Jazz Depot from 6:00-7:15pm on Monday evenings. Please bring your own music stand to rehearsals. Refer to the calendar page for specific dates. This is the same time the THO rehearses. Please be respectful of the other string groups rehearsing at the same time. Be courteous and quiet while passing by the other class. No food or drinks in the Band Room or on the Stage. |
